French Bulldog Rescue Network in 2007

We find beauty in the most

incomprehensible places

and otherwise homely faces

It is our gift to see

beyond the dirt,

terror, sadness and defeat, and find

The true soul that lies within.

We are Rescue!

For Summer and her baby Rajah, Aimee, Truffle & Brulee, Samson, Butch, Posy, Churchill and all the Frenchies we supported on-line with financial donations and loving words. Some were nursed back to health physically and emotionally and placed in loving forever homes. Some are still being rehabilitated in foster care. Some died, too sick and depleted to make it.

Especially our pal Churchill who was dumped at a shelter covered in sores and lesions so infected that his eyes were swollen shut and his nails so long that they had grown in a circular motion into his toe pads. When our FBRN volunteer came to retrieve him, instead of snarling in fear and biting in defense, he rolled on his back for a tummy rub and gratefully licked our volunteer’s hand.

It was with tears of anger and sympathy that Churchill was taken immediately to the vet and then the vet oncologist for a diagnosis of advanced melanoma. His skin cancer had been left unattended too long and had metastasized. The young boys in Churchill’s foster home had come to love him inspite of the horrible condition of the bloodied skin lesions that covered his body. They goofed around with him and played with him every day during the 6 weeks they had him. Churchill returned their affection with Frenchie grins, kisses and wiggly wags from his nubby little tail.

Dear Churchill, Somewhere over the rainbow……….rest in peace little friend…

With love from Lise, Joseph, Aaron, Louis, Isabella and Kea
